R.ELDRED
Anzac Medallion
Service No: 1044
Unit No: 7th L.H.R
Corps/Service: Country: Australia
I am searching for the Gallipoli medallion which was issued to my grandfather in 1967, Revett ELDRED. The First World War Embarkation Roll indicates that he left Sydney on the 15th of June, 1915 as part of the 7th Light Horse Regiment aboard HMAT Uganda (A66). I have the lapel badge that was issued to living ANZACs at the time, but the full size medallion is lost. This Gallipoli Medallion depicts the stars of the Southern Cross on one side and an image of Simpson and his donkey on the other side. It also bears the word ANZAC below the image of Simpson and his name "Revett ELDRED" is engraved on the reverse. Any assistance in helping my family to recover this missing Gallipoli Medallion would be very much appreciated.

I am searching for the First World War Medals (1914-1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal) issued to William Clem Freak. The First World War Embarkation Roll indicates that he left Adelaide on the 2nd of December, 1915 aboard RMS Malwa as a Private in the 16th Infantry Battalion, AIF. However, during the large restructure of the AIF in Egypt, he was transferred to the 48th Infantry Battalion. He eventually was transferred to the 4th Australian Field Bakery. So whilst his medals are more than likely stamped with his unit as the 16th Infantry Battalion, they could reflect any of these units (in particular, the British War Medal and Victory Medal). He was also attached to the 12th Army Brigade, AFA (Australian Field Artillery) during the latter part of his service. Died age 35 in Strathalbyn, South Australia. Buried in free ground. The whereabouts of his missing war service medals is unknown and I would certainly appreciate their return to my family.

I am the great great nephew of Private William James LANE. I am searching for the missing Memorial Plaque (colloquially known as a 'Dead Man's Penny') and war medals (British War Medal and Victory Medal) of William. They may be with a relative and if so, I am happy for them to remain so. But otherwise, if his medals are in the hands of a collector, I would appreciate it if they could be returned to my family. He died of influenza in England in 1918 and did not see service on the Western Front in France.

I am searching for the First World War medal (1914-1915 Star) awarded to George Alexander BINGHAM. This missing war medal of our ancestor, George Alexander BINGHAM is of sentimental value to my family and we would be most grateful to have it returned. I'm looking for the missing medals of my late grandfather Corporal William Mackie WILKIE, S.A.E.C. (South Africa Engineering Corps). The medals were lost about twenty years ago in Johannesburg, South Africa. William's medals were: 1939-1945 Star, Africa Star, Defence Medal, 1939-1945 War Medal and the Africa Service Medal. William Mackie WILKIE served with the South African Engineers in Libya and Lebanon. He was a member of the tunneling company that constructed the Chekka tunnel on the Beirut to Tripoli railway in 1942. William fell seriously ill while in Lebanon and spent several months in hospital there before returning to South Africa and being discharged for ill health in about August 1943. Any assistance in helping me to recover these missing war medals would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for the First World War medals (British War Medal + Victory Medal) awarded to Sergeant William Henry Clarence BANKS. The 1914-1915 Star has been discovered by employees of 'Lifeline' Canberra during a book sale and a next of kin sought . Sergeant William Henry Clarence BANKS was born on the 16th of January, 1879 in Hobart, Tasmania. He served with 56th Infantry (Yarra Borderers) before the First World War and attained the rank of 'Colour Sergeant'. His service record as per the National Archives of Australia indicate that he enlisted into the AIF on the 13th of July, 1915. There is a discrepancy with regards to the First World War Embarkation Roll, in that his service number has incorrectly be recorded as 3084 (which appears to be a typigraphical error). William embarked aboard HMAT Ceramic (A40) on the 23rd of November, 1915 and arrived overseas, too late to serve in the Gallipoli campaign. As part of the expansion and restructure of the AIF, William was transferred to the 46th Infantry Battalion and arrived in France in time for the battle for Pozieres. It is clear that his deployment, in and out of the trenches took its toll as William was classified ill, suffering from shell shock in November of 1916. Bouts of illness with tonsillitis and laryngitis resulted in his return to Australia and discharge on the 30th of November, 1917. If you have these missing war medals or know of their whereabouts, please contact the Medals Gone Missing Administrator so that the medal set can be re-united. Alternatively, you may contact Lifeline Canberra who may be contacted on telephone 6204 6409 (contact Leah Busacker, Mike Zissler or Pamela Andrews).
