Donald GRANT was born in Nigg, Scotland. He fought at the battle of Maida and received the general service medal for his actions there. He was with the 78th Regiment of Foot (Ross-shire Buffs). We believe the medal and bar ended up in New Zealand and we would dearly like to locate it.

I’m searching for my Great Grandfathers medals. He was part of the BEF (British Expeditionary Force). His name was James CARR and he served with the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. He died in Mons on 26th August 1914. As such, he was awarded the 1914 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal. I am searching for the missing Second World War service medals awarded to Captain C.J. ELCOATE. The missing war medals consist of the Military Cross, 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, Defence Medal, 1939-1945 War Medal and Territorial Service Medal with ribbons mounted with a large pin to fix to a uniform. At least one of the Medals is inscribed C.J. Elcoate. Any assistance to help me locate these missing medals, or any information at all would be greatly appreciated.

William Arthur Servant (4649) attested for the 8th South African Horse on 19 April 1916, aged 24 years. He served in East Africa and was discharged on 25 March 1917.
Stolen during a burglary in Pietermaritzburg – South Africa in January 2001. These medals were subsequently sold at auction be Dix Noonan Webb (London) on 2 March 2005.

The descendants of William George COLE are searching for his missing war medals. William George COLE (real name) served in the 53rd Battalion, AIF (Australian Imperial Force) during the Great War, on the Western Front. At one time, he enlisted under the alias of William George BELL. He was killed in action on 26th September, 1917. His medals left the family in the 1980's and are greatly missed. Any help in recovering the medals would be really appreciated. I have listed these medals also under the name of William George COLE as we are not entirely sure which inscriptions may be on the missing medals.
