Missing Medals

We are searching for the missing war service medals awarded to David COGHILL who served with the Royal Navy pre- First World War. Medals issued 1909 onwards till 1919, believed lost sometime during the 1960s. Types not known but British Royal Navy medals, 5 or 6 in number. As David served during the Great War, he no doubt received the 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal. It is also likely that he received the Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal amongst others. Last ship served on HMS Inflexible. Left Navy in 1919. My family is searching for any medals at all which are impressed/engraved with the name D.COGHILL

This was my fathers Queens Korean Medal that sadly went missing. He was a Sapper in the Royal Engineers. His Service number was 22247565. I want to track down the medals of my Great Grandfather. I don't know how many he received but I can see two on his service records, BW and Victory medal. He lived in Victoria. First World War medals and ANZAC Medallion to Charles Edgar PRYKE, Service Number: 2426 Rank: Private Roll title: 10 Infantry Battalion - 1 to 8 Reinforcements (December 1914 - September 1915) Conflict: First World War, 1914-1918 Date of embarkation: 23 June 1915 Place of embarkation: Adelaide Ship embarked on: HMAT Kanowna A61. This medal set was offered for sale on the open market but failed to sell. It is likely the medals then sold via a "Buy It Now" facility of eBay which prevented the Medals Gone Missing team from making an offer to purchase these medals. If the current owner would consider making contact with the Medals Gone Missing Administrator via this website, it has come to our attention that a family member of Charles Edgar PRYKE is searching for these medals and wishes to purchase them back for the family.

My name is Wayne Crighton. Walter Crighton is a great Uncle of mine. Walter is a brother to William Crighton who also fought in WW1. Walter has been mistakenly recorded as Walter Crichton in some WW1 documentation. Walter embarked for service on HMAT Katuna on 9th March 1916. Walter joined the 4th Australian Light Horse Regiment, 15th Reinforcements. In September 1916 Walter was transferred to the 7th Battalion. Walter fought in numerous battles on the Western Front and was wounded in action 17th April 1918 and took no further part in the war. Walter returned to Australia in January 1919. Walter's parents are John and Rebecca Crighton. They were farmers in the Numurkah/Waaia disctrict in Victoria, Australia. To my knowledge, upon returning to Australia from the war, Walter married Annie Elizabeth Neave in 1925 but had no children. Walter died at Caringbah in NSW in 1971. I would like these medals returned to myself/family if they are currently in the possession of someone unknown.

My name is Wayne Crighton. William Crighton to my knowledge upon returning from WW1 never married or had any children. William was from the Numurkah (Waaia) district in Victoria. His parents names were John and Rebecca Crighton. He died in 1980 in NSW. Being a great great Uncle of mine I would be interested in acquiring the medals to be returned to close family. William embarked on HMAT Ulysses on 25th October 1916. William fought on the Western Front in France in numerous battles and was wounded in action on 23 April 1918 and took no further part in the war. He returned to Australia in October 1919.
