My family is missing the British war medal and the Victory medal awarded to Thomas Alfred Burtt of the 25th Battalion AIF for service during WW1.Thomas died of wounds in April 1918 and eventually his 1914/1915 star ended up in his older brother's possession. But the British War medal and the Victory medal went missing.

Wife: Mary Elizabeth (Duval) Baker. (some documents show Mary L. Baker).
Wife sold all medals to support five young children.

My family is searching for the missing Queen's South Africa Medal with 2 clasps; 'South Africa 1901' and 'Cape Colony', awarded to my Grandfather, Patrick DOYLE. The medal has not been seen in my family since the 1990's in Auckland New Zealand. My grand father was 16 yrs old at the time of his service, quite tall and lied about his age stating he was 19. He served with the St. John's Ambulance Brigade as an Orderly with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Baden Powell, Ghandi but after Churchill. Recipient was my Great-Great uncle, died 1961 in Queensland with no marriage or children. It is not known how the medal was obtained by non-family member after his death.
Previous owner (Identity unknown) put this medal set up for auction on the 29th of January, 2011 at the Status International Public Auction house in Sydney. The medal set consists of the 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal and 1914-1918 Victory medal awarded to the same recipient. Any contact from the person who purchased these medals at auction would be very much appreciated. Should you decide to sell them in the future, we would be most grateful to be given first offer. Should you not wish to part with these medals, we would simply be grateful just to know that they are safe and that William's memory is being cared for and valued.
