He was discharged on May 16, 1945 while serving with the 2/6th Australian General Hospital. His Next of Kin is listed as Gweneth Pusterla. Trooper John Edward HICKEY, of the 2nd Re-Mount Unit, AIF. Born in Kempsey on the 26th November, 1884. He enlisted on the 20/10/1915. The First World War Embarkation Role has him leaving Sydney on the 10th of November, 1915 aboard HMAT Orsova. Accidentilly wounded in 1917, he returned to Australia on the 26th of July, 1919. This medal is part of a broken set - he was also awarded the 1914/15 Star and the Victory Medal. After the war, he lived at Corindi (south of Grafton) and Lismore. I only wish to return this medal to his family and will require proof of decendancy.
