Second World War medal (1939-1945 War Medal) awarded to Samuel William John WILSON who was born in Sudest, New Guinea on the 8th April, 1892. This man is believed to have New Guinea native and white parentage; but was adopted by Mr. Robert John (Jack) CRAIG of Cairns, Queensland. Samuel William John WILSON served in the AIF during the Great War and returned to Australia in 1919. He re-enlisted into the V.D.C (Volunteer Defence Corps) in 1942 and discharged in 1943, resulting in this medal entitlement. This 1939-1945 War Medal was purchased by Medals Gone Missing from ebay on the 22nd February, 2011 and we are looking to make contact of a direct descendant of Samuel or his adopted father, Robert John CRAIG. This medal is NOT FOR GENERAL SALE and will only be sold back to a descendant upon very strict proof of relationship. Samuel's First World War medals (1914-1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal) are missing and we are looking to reunite this medal group.

A British First World War Victory Medal, unusally marked with the word 'PETROL' and the recipient's service number; so that the inscription reads "PETROL - 210058" and the name A.J. PALMER who served in the Army Service Corps of the British Army during the Great War. This medal was placed on the open market via ebay but failed to sell on the 10th of August, 2012. The 1914 Star (colloquially known as the 'Mons Star') which was awarded to Private T. LADD was placed on the open market for sale. Offered from Western Australia on ebay, it failed to sell on the 5th September, 2012. The asking price was $275.00 however it failed to reach a bid. No doubt, this medal would be invaluable to a descendant of T. LADD and it is a shame to see it for sale. The Mons Star was only issued to a member of the British Expeditionary Force that wase in an active unit between 5th August 1914 and the 22/23 November 1914. Members who were active after that time qualified for the 1914-1915 Star. The medal is genuine and judging by the wear on the ribbon the ribbon is also the original. His service number was 6329 and the medal is stamped Pte T.Ladd 2.Rif. Brig (2nd Rifle Brigade). If you are a descendant of T. I am searching for the descendants of Private Ronald BROUGHTON who was born on the 17th February, 1908 at Sydney in New South Wales. According to the World War Two Nominal Roll, he enlisted into the Second AIF (Australian Imperial Force) on the 24th May, 1940. It is recorded that he formed part of the third reinforcements for the 2/17th Infantry Battalion. He discharged from the AIF on the 26th February, 1942 for unknown reasons. Second World War medals of Lance Corporal Herbert CRAIG are currently being offered for sale on ebay. Herbert CRAIG was born on the 10th March, 1913 at Sydney in New South Wales. According to the World War Two Nominal Roll, Herbert enlisted into the Second AIF on the 8th November, 1939 making him a very early enlister. He was posted to the 2/4th Infantry Battalion and shipped off to the Middle East. He was taken prisoner by the Germans, possibly in the fighting at Greece or Crete. The medals for sale on ebay consist of the Africa Star and the 1939-1945 War Medal. This war medal is damaged and missing it's hanging bar. If you are a descendant of Herbert CRAIG or if you know of his family, it is urged that you contact them and inform them of the sale, so that they may recover these medals.

I wish to return one war service medal which is missing to the family of W.A.M. RUDDLE who served with the British Army during the Great War. Thise medal is a British War Medal. Private W.A.M. RUDDLE served with the Hampshire Regiment during the First World War with the service number 357027. This British War Medal will only be returned to a descendant of W.A.M. RUDDLE under very strict proof of relationship.

These medals consist of the Meritorious Service Medal and the British War Medal. T.J. HALE served with the Army Service Corps during the First World War with the service number S-310375. These medals will only be returned to a descendant of T.J. HALE under very strict proof of relationship.

I am searching for the missing war service medals of Archibald James SKILBECK who was born on the 1st April, 1921 at Footscray in Victoria. His medals consist of:- The Military Medal, 1939-1945 Star, Pacific Star, 1939-1945 War Medal and the 1939-1945 Australia Service Medal. He served in the 39th Infantry Battalion, A.M.F. (Australian Military Forces) and was with this unit when he won the Military Medal at Gona. At this time, his service number was V41526. He transferred to the AIF on the 5th October, 1944 and his service number changed to VX149854. According to the World War Two Nominal Roll, his next of kin was Margaret SKILBECK. Archie survived the war and discharged in 1946. Whilst we understand that a set of medals like this are highly collectable, we would dearly love to have these medals back in our family.

Medals Gone Missing has purchased the missing war service medals of Private John Frederick SHEEHAN. The medals were purchased from ebay on the 23rd May, 2012 and descendants of this man are sought. John Frederick SHEEHAN was born on the 21st February, 1919 at Murray Bridge in South Australia. He enlisted into the Second AIF (Australian Imperial Force) on the 26th of March, 1940 in to the 2/31st Infantry Battalion. According to the World War Two Nominal Roll, his next of kin was Patrick SHEEHAN. He discharged from the AIF on the 28th November, 1945. It is believed that he is a veteran of the Middle East and Pacific campaigns, including Kokoda and the beach head battle of Gona. The medals are missing their hangers (are discs only) and are NOT for general sale. They will be sold back to the family only, upon strict proof of relationship. I am in possession of a 1914-1915 Star which was awarded to Sergeant Martin Patrick FLANNAGAN (though the medal states his rank as Private). I wish to return this medal to a direct decendant of Private Martin Patrick FLANNAGAN who served with the 1st Light Horse Regiment during the First World War on Gallipoli and in the Sinai Palestine campaigns. Strangely, he is not recorded on the First World War Embarkation Roll. According to his service record, he was born in Colac, Victoria. I believe Martin Patrick Flannagan had a sister who lived in Elizibeth Street, Melbourne. His next of kin was Austin FLANNAGAN. This medal is not for general sale and will only be returned to a direct descendant of Martin Patrick FLANNAGAN upon strict proof of relationship.
