His service number was 15931 and according to the First World War Embarkation Roll, he boarded HMAT Ulysses (A38) at Port Melbourne on the 25th October, 1916.  Clement’s next of kin is recorded on his service record on hand at the National Archives of Australia, as being Florence Emily Maud ALLEN.  At the time of Clement’s enlistment, she resided at  Scarborough Street Glenelg in South Australia.  She later moved to Maturin Road in Glenelg.

Thankfully, Clement Charles ALLEN survived the First World War and returned to Australia during July 1919.  Please note:  This medal is not for general sale and will only be returned to a descendant of Clement Charles ALLEN upon very strict proof of relationship.
