I am searching for my grandfather's Q.S.A medal (Queen's South Africa Medal). Alfred SMYTH had the service number 3222 and served in the Boer War in South Africa from 1901 to 1902 with Number 3 NSW Imperial Bushmen. Upon arriving back to Australia he was given his Boer War medal. However it was stamped with ‘SMITH’ instead of ‘SMYTH’. Being of very proud Irish decent he subsequently returned it because his family name was misspelt! Our family over the many years since have endeavoured to locate it but alas, we have come up empty handed. As per the above information, I have also listed this medal under the surname "SMITH".
