Missing Medals

The descendants of Thomas STEPHENS (real name Thomas SPURR) are seeking the missing First World War service medals of this soldier. He was the son of Mrs R. Stubbs of South Ossett, Yorkshire. The family of this casualty have provided documentary evidence to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) indicating, that although he chose to sign up and serve as Thomas STEPHENS, his family name was SPURR and he was the son of the late Mr David Spurr and Mrs Susannah Stubbs (formerly Spurr) of South Ossett, Yorkshire. According to the First World War Embarkation Roll, Thomas STEPHENS (SPURR) boarded HMAT Ceramic on the 22nd December, 1914 at Port Melbourne. He landed at Gallipoli but sadly was killed in action on the 30th of April and he along with 8 other soldiers were buried in a corner at Quinn's Post by the Reverand Wray. Any assistance in helping this family to recover his missing war service medals or Memorial Plaque would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for the missing First World War medals of my grandfather, George Alfred MANTON. The war service medals consist of the Military Medal, British War Medal and the Victory Medal. According to the First World War Embarkation Roll, Private George Alfred MANTON boarded HMAT Euripides (A14) on the 11th September, 1916 at Port Melbourne as a reinforcement for the 6th Infantry Battalion. His service number was 6314. Any assistance in helping my family to recover these missing war service medals would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for any Military Service Medals which were issued to James NOLAN who served with the King's Own Royal Regiment. His service number was 3702883 and the medals were awarded between the wars. There may possibly be a British War Medal and a Victory Medal awared in his name? But this is not confirmed. James TONKIN is my Grandfather, whom I only met once, in 1970. I have only recently found out that he served in World War 1 as a part of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force (D6 Reinforcements) with the 10th North Otago Rifles. He also served during the Second World War. He passed away in 1975, and I have no idea of where his effects have gone, including his missing war medals. I am searching for the First World War medals of my great grandfather; Private Sydney H. JERRAM who served with both the Lincolnshire Regiment and the Bedfordshire Regiment during the Great War. He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. I have a photo of my great grandfather in uniform. He was in the Lincolnshire Regiment but he has the Bedfordshire Regiment also listed on his medal card, so I don't know what would be engraved on his missing war service medals. According to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) Thomas was buried in the Daours Communal Cemetery Extension in France. He was the son of Michael and Bridget O'Brien; and husband of B. O'Brien, of Ascot, Tevali, Bondi Beach, Sydney, New South Wales. Native of Dockyard, Raymond Terrace, New South Wales. My family has not seen the medals for some time, but they were in the possession of his son Jack, who lived in Culver City, California in the 1970s. Any assistance in helping us to locate his missing war medals and missing Memorial Plaque would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for the missing war medals which were posthumously awarded to Private Robert BENNETT who was killed on Gallipoli. These medals consist of the 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal. Robert BENNETT was born on the 13th June, 1889 in Carlton, Victoria. He was the son of Albert Henry and Bridget Bennett, of 4, Murray Street, Malvern, Victoria, Australia. - Robert BENNETT enlisted on the 4th January, 1915 and according to the First World War Embarkation Roll, he boarded HMAT Runic (A54) on the 19th February, 1915 at port Melbourne. He left Australia as part of the 8th Battalion, 2nd Infanry Brigade AIF. Sadly, Robert was killed in action on the 7th August 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula. According to the C.W.G.C. (Commonwealth War Graves Commission) records, he has no known grave and his name is recorded on the Lone Pine Memorial. He was a widower when he enlisted. His next of kin was his son, Joseph Robert BENNETT (now deceased). I am his granddaughter Loretta SMITH and I would very much appreciate your help in having these missing war medals returned to my family.
