Advanced Search

  • Name: Entering SURNAME only should be sufficient to achieve a result. Initials only of first names, seperated by full stops may be entered. No spaces between the start of the Surname and the full stops: example: J.F.MCGRATH or C.H.TRAYNOR. Apostrophie must be entered e.g. O'REILLY
  • Serial Number: Search by serial number. This is always the best way to find a particular person, but bear in mind that sometimes for various reasons, a serial number may have been changed.
  • Country: Find all medals and militaria based on country
  • Corps: Search by Corps or Service only: i.e. Artillery, Mounted (this includes Cavalry & Lighthorse) Merchant Navy, Air Force, Armoured etc.
  • Unit Number: Enter the unit number ONLY - no other details. i.e. to find all items under the 10th Lighthorse Regiment - simply type in the number 10. If searching for a composite unit such as the 55/53rd Militia Battalion (Australian Military Forces) - simply type in 55/53. NOTE: a number only will yield results for ALL countries.

1939-1945 War Medal

Corps/Service: Merchant Navy

Country: Ireland
The year of J. Riney's death 1966 his medals in custody of Queensland Public Trustee were turned over to R.S.S.I.L.I.A. and were presumably sold to some one. Medals that he received for his WWI services were among those sent to RSL. The medals that I found to be his for WWII service were: 1939-45 War Medal 1939-45 Star Atlantic Star WWI service (I'm not sure of) these may be likely the ones: 1914-18 Victory Medal Merchantile Marine War Merchantile Marine Pair I, his nephew Denis, traced my uncle to Brisbane and found his resting place in Nudgee Cemetery on Sep 22, 2008. I'm eager to have the listed medals of Uncle Jerry's in my possession and later to pass them to my two son. Thank you kindly for items such as these that you may have, of his belongings.. God Bless! http://wwww.angelfire.com/ri/poste/medalsgone.html A web story I created for new year called medalsgone.html but when found my family will rejoice when I create a medalsfound.com web page story.
