- Name: Entering SURNAME only should be sufficient to achieve a result. Initials only of first names, seperated by full stops may be entered. No spaces between the start of the Surname and the full stops: example: J.F.MCGRATH or C.H.TRAYNOR. Apostrophie must be entered e.g. O'REILLY
- Serial Number: Search by serial number. This is always the best way to find a particular person, but bear in mind that sometimes for various reasons, a serial number may have been changed.
- Country: Find all medals and militaria based on country
- Corps: Search by Corps or Service only: i.e. Artillery, Mounted (this includes Cavalry & Lighthorse) Merchant Navy, Air Force, Armoured etc.
- Unit Number: Enter the unit number ONLY - no other details. i.e. to find all items under the 10th Lighthorse Regiment - simply type in the number 10. If searching for a composite unit such as the 55/53rd Militia Battalion (Australian Military Forces) - simply type in 55/53. NOTE: a number only will yield results for ALL countries.
J.RYDER
1914-1915 Star Medal Trio
Service No: 18664
Unit No: 16
Corps/Service: Infantry
Country: United Kingdom
I am searching for the First World War medals (1914/15 Star, British War Medal & Victory Medal) & Memorial Plaque of my great-grandfather Joseph RYDER, Pte. 18664 16th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers. His next of kin were his parents John William & Annie Margaret RYDER of Liverpool. I believe a relative sold the medals in the late 1970s in Llandudno. The Memorial Plaque may have remained with his parents in Liverpool. Any assistance in helping me recover these medals would be greatly appreciated.
