Country: Canada
I am searching for the British Empire Medal, awarded to Chief Petty Officer John Leonard CHRISTOPHER. John Leonard, A-1414, CPO, RCNR, BEM~[16.6.45] The citation for his award is as follows:- "This Chief Petty Officer has served a considerable period at sea during which time he has proved himself a most conscientious, efficient and resourceful worker. In the early hours of the morning on 8 February, 1945, a fire occurred in the Petty Officer's Mess of HMCS Beaver. This rating, in complete disregard for his own personal safety, and in spite of dense smoke and flames, extinguished the fire and materially saved the ship from possible serious disaster." Any assistance that you may give our family in recovering this war medal would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for the Second World War medals of my grandfather, Andries Johannes FOURIE. Whilst I am not sure exactly what war medals he was issued, he was certainly awarded the World War Two Africa Star and the South Africa Service Medal amongst others. His father (my great-grandfather .... also called Andries Johannes FOURIE) served during the First World War (South Africa) and his war medal set is also missing. These medals consist of the British War Medal and the bi-linqual Victory Medal. I do not know their service numbers, however their name is quite distinct and I am hoping that somebody may recognise these medals and assist our family in their recovery.

I am looking for the First World War medals of my great grandfather, Andries Johannes FOURIE. Whilst I am not sure exactly what war medals he was issued, he was almost certainly awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal (bi-lingual with both English and Afrikaan script). His son (my grandfather .... also called Andries Johannes FOURIE) served during World War Two (South Africa) and his war medal set is also missing. I do not know their service numbers, however their name is quite distinct and I am hoping that somebody may recognise these medals and assist our family in their recovery. My grandfather's World War Two medals definately contained an Africa Star.
