Advanced Search
- Name: Entering SURNAME only should be sufficient to achieve a result. Initials only of first names, seperated by full stops may be entered. No spaces between the start of the Surname and the full stops: example: J.F.MCGRATH or C.H.TRAYNOR. Apostrophie must be entered e.g. O'REILLY

Private Geoffrey MARESCAUX, born on the 26th of February, 1910 at West Melbourne in Victoria. He enlisted on the 29/07/1942 and the WW2 Nominal Role has him serving with the Army Service Corps upon discharge on the 23/07/42. Interestingly, two days later he has enlisted into the R.A.N. with the service number PM/V258 where he attained the rank of Able Seaman and was discharged from the Navy on the 10/12/1945 from HMAS Lonsdale.

Private Philip DUNKLEY. Believed to have served in the British Army during the First World War. He later enlisted in the Citizens Military Forces, Australian Army during World War 2. His service number was V42078 and he enlisted on the 11/01/1941 at Seymour in Victoria. WW2 Nominal Role has him at the rank of Sergeant and serving with the 28 Employment Coy. on discharge.

Geoffrey Hitchings PYNE, born on the 15th of February, 1911 at Dalton in England. Served in the East Kent Regiment during the 1920's. Enlisted in the AIF on the 10/06/1940. Served with the 2/10 Field Regiment. Promoted to Lieutenant and served in New Guinea late in the war. Discharged on the 07/01/1946. The WW2 Nominal Role has him serving with the 2/3 Aust Post Operating Coy upon discharge.

Trooper John Edward HICKEY, of the 2nd Re-Mount Unit, AIF. Born in Kempsey on the 26th November, 1884. He enlisted on the 20/10/1915. The First World War Embarkation Role has him leaving Sydney on the 10th of November, 1915 aboard HMAT Orsova. Accidentilly wounded in 1917, he returned to Australia on the 26th of July, 1919. This medal is part of a broken set - he was also awarded the 1914/15 Star and the Victory Medal. After the war, he lived at Corindi (south of Grafton) and Lismore. I only wish to return this medal to his family and will require proof of decendancy.
