I wish to make contact with the family of Able Seaman James Sanderson PRATT of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. A member of the Howe Battalion, Royal Naval Division - he died of wounds on the 28th of October, 1917 at Passchendaele. The son of Andrew Dryden Pratt from Amble, Northumberland - he also served on Gallipoli with the Collingwood Battalion during the battle of Krithia. Any information as to the whereabouts of these war medals is also sought. (P36)

I am searching for the war medals of Private Daniel George SMITH of the 33rd Infantry Battalion, A.I.F. The First World War Embarkation Role has him leaving Sydney on the 4th of May, 1916 aboard HMAT Marathon. Daniel died in the 1960's and that is when the medals disappeared. To my family's knowledge, the were not thrown out. If anybody has any knowledge of the whereabouts of these medals, we would appreciate your assistance in their return.

Private Herbert Norman LUHRS of the 4th Australian Motor Transport Company. Was also assigned to the Army Service Corps. The First World War Embarkation Role has him leaving Melbourne on the 23rd of July, 1918 aboard HMAT Marathon. The British War Medal was his only medal entitlement. He did not see active service due to the war finishing prior to his arrival in France.

The First World War Embarkation Role has him leaving Melbourne on the 11th of May, 1917 aboard HMAT Ascanius. He was wounded in action on the 25th of April, 1918 at Villers Brettoneaux. Squadron Leader Daniel Kerr MATTHEWS was born in Hemmingford - Canada on the 12th of March, 1918. He enlisted into the Royal Australian Air Force on the 29/04/1940 from Adelaide. He was accidentilly killed in a flying accident (Wirraway crash) in the south-east of N.S.W on the 16th of September, 1943. Also killed in this same accident was Flying Officer William Sebastian.
