Second World War medals (1939-45 War Medal + 1939-1945 Australia Service Medal) awarded to V144614 Edward OLLIS who was born on the 5th of November, 1899 at Birmingham in England. The World War Two Nominal Roll indicates that he enlisted into the AMF (Australian Military Forces) on the 15th of December, 1941 and discharged on the 21st of June, 1945. Posting on discharge was the Recruit Reception Depot. His next of kin was Winnie Poulton. These medals were offered on the open market, but failed to sell on the 21st of May, 2011. Since I was a child I have in my possession a World War One medal awarded to Corporal A.R. FAULKNER. I would like to hand this war medal over to a true family member of the late Mr. Faulkner. According to the First World War Embarkation Roll, Andrew Ross FAULKNER embarked at Port Sydney on the 8th of August, 1917 aboard HMAT Anchises. At this time, he was a reinforcement for the Tunnelling Companies of the AIF. The British War Medal is stamped on the rim - 7562 CPL. A.R. Faulkner B.G. R.O.C. I am searching for the family of Private Frank SEYMOUR who served during the Boer War (1899 - 1902) and during the First World War. He was born near Bathurst in 1881. According to the Boer War Nominal Roll, Private Frank Seymour was allocated the service number 574 when he served in South Africa in 1901 & 1902 with the 2nd New South Wales Mounted Rifles. In accordance with the First World War Embarkation Roll, he left Port Sydney aboard HMAT Kyarra (A55) on the 13th of April, 1915 as part of the 13th Infantry Battalion, AIF however I believe he may have transferred to the air force (Australian Flying Corps), with the service number 2021. I have listed these medals under his First World War service number and his Boer War service number. Any assistance to locate his family and have the medals returned would be greatly appreciated.

John Stanwell McNAMARA was an 18 year old Clerk from Petersham, Sydney when he enlisted on the 8th of September, 1915. According to the First World War Embarkation Roll, he embarked with 15 Battery, 5th Field Artillery Brigade on the 18th of November, 1915 from Port Sydney aboard HMAT Persic (A34).

I am searching for the family of Private R. STEEL who served during the Great War with the Northumberland Fusiliers. His service number was 203448. I have in my possession, one of his war medals which I have had since the late 70's. It is the First World War Victory Medal which was colloquially called a 'Wilfred', on the front the war medal is embossed with a lady, arms outstretched with wings. On the side is engraved his name, Pte R. Steel and the number 203448. I remember my mother buying it from a pawn shop in Brisbane when I was a child. I would now like to return it to one of his descendants if they could be found. I will only return it to a direct descendant upon proof of relationship.

First World War medal (Victory Medal) awarded to Corporal A. NORTON of the 15th Infantry Battalion, AIF. Arthur was born in Hartsfordshire, England. According to the First World War Embarkation Roll, Corporal Arthur NORTON embarked aboard HMAT Seang Bee on the 13th of February, 1915 at Port Brisbane. His service number on the First World War Embarkation Roll is listed as 1372A but is simply engraved as '1372' on the actual Victory Medal and this is also reflected by his service record as purchased from the National Archives of Australia. Arthur NORTON landed on Gallipoli on the 9th of May, 1915. Was promoted to Corporal on the Gallipoli Peninsula (on 10th August, 1915) when a corporal within his unit suffered a serious gunshot wound to his arm. Arthur NORTON survived Gallipoli and France and returned to Australia, however he was suffering from wounds received on the Western Front. This Victory Medal was purchased on ebay for $137 AUD on the 6th of March, 2011 and will only be sold to a direct descendant upon strict proof of relationship.

A search of both the World War 2 Nominal Roll and the National Archives of Australia, failed to come up with any result. The medal was purchased on Ebay Australia for AUD $27.19 on the 26th of March, 2011. It will only be sold to a direct descendant upon proof of relationship.
